Time. What is time? Who started to first measure time? We all know the answers to these questions (even if you don't, you can always use Google!), but have any of us really grasped the immense significance of time? Maybe and maybe not.
Time is a gift, as commonly said, but sometimes we think it could be a curse, so in this book yo will find both these kinds of thinking and you will be able to see how time is indeed precious.
The story is the author's own fictious take of the legend of Father Time, who was a young man with an obsession for measuring time. He was the first man who ever though of and measured time, thus becoming Father Time in an unexpected event.
This book has been written in a very interesting format, weaving together what seem to be three different and completely separated stories. The whole book has a quite a quick pace, trust me, you will never find yourself in a bored lull in any page of this little, wonderful book! In fact, I did finish the entire book in a couple of hours, because it was so interesting that I just had to read one more chapter (you know where that kind of thinking leads to!).
Below is a YouTube video of the author, Mitch Albom, talking about this book.
One of my favourite quotes from the book is:
"Time is not something you give back. The very next moment may be an answer to your prayer. To deny that is to deny the most important part of the future."
